Forestacean

I don’t know what these crabs represent—other than the Chesapeake—or why they’re around what are called the inner banks of North Carolina (abbreviated IBX—Outer Banks is OBX).

I do know that Santa Rosa (northern California) did something similar with Charlie Brown figures—Charles Schultz lived in Santa Rosa until his death. People, shops, and companies decorated fiberglass Charlie Browns and then these were displayed all over town.

I liked this one—painted by Weyerhauser—it is called “Forestacean.” Close to a Timber Beast’s heart.

  1. Cool pics! It’s a hundred and a million degrees here and wishing I was stuck in a crab someplace cooler.

On a Charles Schulz note, I played Snoopy in a college production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. Most fun I ever had on stage, and that’s saying something.

  2. Just about 15-20 degrees (Fahrenheit to those metrically inclined) cooler here on the Outer Banks. Thunder storms predicted Monday. We’ll see.

  3. London calling – it’s muggy here.

Thanks for the Charles Taylor suggestion; I can see what you mean, if the guy had let himself go and got disillusioned. But I now know it’s Joseph Kabila!

These days he is larger and more fed up looking. No doubt the same would have happened to Carl, had he survived.
