  1. I’ve always loved Catalina Island. I’ve only been there twice, but they were excellent trips. I’ll have to make it a point to take a family trip out there in a few years.

    1. We liked the look of Avalon too, and wondered if we’d like to move there. Apparently, lots of folks have the same idea. A cursory look at Realtor.com said it was waaaay out of our price range, even after winning the lottery.

      1. I’m not surprised. I’m not sure if I’d want to live there, anyway–I doubt they have great internet service!

        The second time I went I stayed at the Bayview Hotel, which I definitely recommend–I was a student on a tight budget, and it fit my price range. I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised with the offerings. The jacuzzi tub in the room was great.
