Click on picture to enlarge it Clear Lake is south of the 40th parallel and about 1325 feet (405 meters) above sea level. So, snow does not visit it very often, perhaps every couple years or so. The wispy cloud above the hill reminded me of smoke rising out of a volcano crater.
