I may have posted this one before. It’s a picture from the Table Rock trail in the Robert Louis Stevenson State Park. RSL SP is a nice place to watch the sunrise while drinking a hot coffee, truly one of life’s greatest joys.

Weekend Postcard: Lake County, California
Spring is starting to make moves into Lake County. You can tell by the daisies pushing up through the carcasses of rusting cars.
Weekend Postcards from the Cascade Range
My wife and I travelled to Portland, Oregon last week to visit my son. We stayed with friends close to Mount Shasta. In the morning, a storm approached threatening snow over Siskiyou Summit. Winter makes for some great photos.
Weekend Postcard: Snow Dusted Hill, Lake County, California
Clear Lake is south of the 40th parallel and about 1325 feet (405 meters) above sea level. So, snow does not visit it very often, perhaps every couple years or so. The wispy cloud above the hill reminded me of smoke rising out of a volcano crater.
Weekend Postcard: Vineyard, Lake County, California
A rare snow led to this picture of a vineyard’s rows of grape vines waiting for spring to arrive.
Weekend Postcard: San Francisco Bay at sunset
This is a panorama of the San Francisco Bay area at sunset. The Bay bridge and Yerba Buena (aka Goat) Island are on the left and the Golden Gate bridge is on the right. Angel island, the Ellis Island of the West, is located in the right side of the photo (behind the chimney).
Weekend Postcard: Carquinez Strait
This weekend’s postcard is from Benicia, California’s third capital (1853-1854). This Super Bowl Sunday is warm and sunny in California. The rest of the country may be seeing snow, ice, and winter. It’s 75F as I post this. Last Sunday poured rain. This Sunday pours sunshine. Ah, California. The picture was taken from the northContinue reading “Weekend Postcard: Carquinez Strait”
Weekend Postcard: In a meadow at Boggs Mountain
I snapped this picture several summers ago. I like the lighting and the lush feeling. Who could believe so many variations of green could exist in nature?
Weekend postcard: the outer bank islands of North Carolina
I have friends in Great Britain and Europe who are living under mounds of snow. And with summer 22 weeks away, it seemed like a good time to make the rash prediction that summer will return to the northern hemisphere. Corolla is near the North Carolina- Virginia state line and possesses some great beaches madeContinue reading “Weekend postcard: the outer bank islands of North Carolina”
Weekend Postcard: Crescent Bay
A cold storm came in last night and dropped about an inch of snow. Snow still was falling this morning. Happy New Year from Timberati. May 2011 be a great year for you.
