The pros and cons of a real Christmas tree versus an artificial may be debated for a long time to come. The fact that this tree is 30% off retail probably cannot make it any less hideous to you. The picture does not do the real thing justice, it is much pinker in person. HappyContinue reading “Weekend postcard: Oh Xmas tree!”

Weekend Postcard: Lake County
I caught this sunset over Mt Hannah and Salmina Meadow on my mobile phone. I have never been able to get the impact of a sunrise or sunset captured in a mere photo. Still the sky is magnificent and the evening was wonderfully mild.
Holiday Postcard: The view from the neighborhood, Thanksgiving 2010
It is just another quiet day in the neighborhood and I am thankful for my spouse, my friends, and my family–especially my sons in whom I am delighted as to who they have become. (Grammarians, do I have that right?)
Weekend postcard: Yosemite
I love this picture perhaps because of the mist on the lens rather than despite the mist. I like the rock in the middle of the stream with water rushing past; it says “stop and smell the shooting stars.”
Weekend postcard: Robert Louis Stevenson State Park

Weekend postcard from UC Berkeley
This Tyrannosaurus rex display is in the Valley Life Sciences building at the University of California, Berkeley’s Museum of Paleontology. I get to see it every time I go to the library housed in the VLSB when I research Lowdermilk articles.
Weekend postcards – Santa Catalina Island
I thought I would share some more pictures of California’s Channel Islands—Santa Catalina Island. .
Weekend postcard from Yosemite
I hope to have the week’s top environmental stories up sometime today. Until then, enjoy these photos taken in Yosemite National Park.
Weekend Postcard – Yosemite
I thought we would look at some more pictures from Yosemite National Park. I took most of these on the east side of Yosemite National Park. The lake is Tenaya Lake (not to be confused with the smaller beaver ponds). If you want to know the location or subject of any of these, leave aContinue reading “Weekend Postcard – Yosemite”
